Nursing students psychologically drained

The Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa (DENOSA) Student Movement in Limpopo says the exclusion of the students who have failed twice at the Limpopo Nursing College affects students psychologically.
Over the weekend, the DENOSA Student Movement in Limpopo held its 6th provincial congress in Polokwane and suggested that instead of students being excluded, the department of Health in Limpopo should rather stop paying them monthly stipends.
The movement’s chairperson in the province Clifford Sebone says sometimes students’ exam results are reprinted, after the college had noted some errors – an issue which they believe emotionally drains students who initially thought they had passed their exams.
Sebone says phasing in the bursary system by the Limpopo department of Health has had a negative impact on students, especially those that were admitted this year.
