ROSEMARY NDLOVU DENIES HAVING HAND IN HER NIECE’S DEATH

Murder accused Nomia Rosemary Ndlovu has told the high court sitting in Palm Ridge that she has no clue how her niece – Zanele Motha – sustained serious injuries after she was discharged from hospital into her care.

She was being cross examined on Monday.

Motha died a day after she was released from Tembisa Hospital in 2016.

She had a rib fracture and a deep cut, which Ndlovu could not explain, despite having stayed with her at the time.

Prosecutor Riana Williams asked Ndlovi: “Ma’am can you explain to the court, how did Zanele Motha sustain rib fractures?”

Speaking through her interpreter Ndlovu said: “I don’t know.’

Williams continued: “She was released in your presence. Nobody else visited her. You were the only one with her. How did she sustain those rib fractures?”

Ndlovu says her niece could have easily fallen and injured herself.

Ndlovu received close to R120 000 in policy payouts from Motha’s death but her family claims that she did not make a contribution towards the funeral.

She faces several charges including murder, conspiracy to commit murder and defeating the ends of justice.

To date, she has received more than a R1 million life insurance policy payouts after allegedly masterminding the deaths of her family members.
